Market Close Summary: Mixed Performance in Domestic Futures as Crude Oil Surges Nearly 9%

On September 2, 2026, domestic commodity futures exhibited a predominantly downward trend, with most major contracts closing in the red, although select energy products posted significant gains.

Among the decliners, palladium futures tumbled over 4%, while silver futures fell nearly 4%. Lithium carbonate and platinum dropped more than 3%, with tin and gold shedding over 2%. Additionally, TSR 20 and coking coal declined by approximately 2%.

On the upside, SC crude oil surged nearly 9%, leading the gains. Ethylene glycol (EG) hit the daily limit up, while methanol and fuel oil advanced over 4%. Pure benzene and low-sulphur fuel oil (LU) rose more than 3%, with styrene (EB) gaining nearly 3% and containerized freight (EC) up over 2%.
