On July 30, the Shaanxi Provincial Federation of Trade Unions issued a notice on supporting the construction of 25 craftsman academies in 2026. With strong backing from the provincial defense industry union, Shaanxi Defense Industry Polytechnic has been successfully designated as a provincial-level "Shaanxi Defense Craftsman Academy" under key support.

In November 2021, the institution partnered with 21 military-industrial units, including the Shaanxi Provincial Defense Industry Union, to establish the "Weapon Craftsman Academy". By September 2025, the provincial defense union had officially conferred the title of "Shaanxi Defense Craftsman Academy" upon the school.

This latest recognition marks another major milestone in talent cultivation for the polytechnic, following its earlier designation as a defense industry craftsman academy. It signifies the institution's formal entry into the provincial key support system for craftsman training, positioning it as a core benchmark in Shaanxi's talent development landscape and providing fresh momentum for its high-quality growth.

Looking ahead, the school aims to "build well, utilize well, and manage well" its craftsman academy. It will prioritize the digital and intelligent transformation of the "Shaanxi Defense Craftsman Academy" as a key performance indicator, develop high-quality digital teaching resources, and advance digital upgrades. By leveraging the academy's superior resources and refining the industry-academia-research mechanism, the institution will continue to deepen the integration of high-skilled talent cultivation with industrial and innovation chains, steadily injecting "craftsman power" into Shaanxi's economic and national defense development.
